Phone technical consulting
Get experienced, machine-specific guidance without waiting for a service call. Phone consultations are built for owners, technicians, and studios who need a clear next move.
After your request is accepted, we’ll reply with an invoice or payment link. The initial $60 is prepaid to confirm the call.
Tell us the model, symptoms, prior work, available documentation, and what you want to accomplish.
If the session is a good fit, we’ll send payment instructions for the $60 minimum and schedule the call once it is paid.
Work through observations and appropriate tests with an experienced technical guide on the phone.
Remote guidance cannot guarantee a repair. If a test or repair is unsafe or impractical, we’ll stop and recommend bench or on-location service instead.
What we do
Whether the work begins by phone or at the bench, good service looks at the whole electromechanical system—from the reel table to the output connector—so the plan addresses the cause, not just the symptom.
Methodical troubleshooting from transport and control issues to audio-path faults and power-supply problems.
Tape path, azimuth, level, bias, and playback alignment for reliable, repeatable performance.
Cleaning, lubrication, inspection, and proactive service before small issues become session-stopping failures.
Bench service for removable cards, control assemblies, power supplies, and other individual components.
Thoughtful, machine-specific renewal that respects original engineering while restoring dependable operation.
Large-format studio machines serviced where they live, with travel available for the right project.
Machines we know
From American studio workhorses to Japanese project-studio classics, every model has its own engineering language.
Have another make? Send the model and a few photos. Other vintage analogue machines are considered case by case.
How service works
A 100-pound studio deck and a plug-in circuit card do not belong in the same shipping box. Service is planned around the size, location, and needs of your equipment.
Large machines
For larger decks and studio transports, on-location work is available throughout Memphis and the Mid-South. Travel beyond the region is considered based on scheduling and project requirements.
Small machines
Smaller portable and consumer machines may be accepted for local drop-off after the model, condition, and service needs have been reviewed in advance.
Boards & parts
Specific boards, power supplies, and removable assemblies may be shipped from anywhere after prior approval. Complete machines are not accepted by shipment.
Projects outside the Memphis / Mid-South region are considered based on the machine, work required, timing, and travel logistics.
Start a service conversation
A good diagnosis starts before the toolbox opens. Send a concise description and a few clear photos so we can understand the machine, location, and likely next step.
